PRIMAVERAPRO STARTUPS 2016 FINALISTS



The third edition of PrimaveraPro Startups, the international investment forum for the music industry organised by PrimaveraPro and the private network of investors Seed&Click, now have their finalists. The five selected projects will present their projects on the 3rd June at 10 am in the Auditori del MACBA, during a day of exclusive activities in the PrimaveraPro 2016 programme.


The objective of PrimaveraPro Startups is to boost enterprising initiatives, to promote national and foreign investment and to encourage commercial transactions and innovations in the music industry.


The 5 finalists of the 2016 edition are:

  • Bandsquare (Paris, France): Tool for artists and their teams that allows in depth analysis of the behaviour and needs of their fans.
  • Humm (London, United Kingdom): Free, no ads, easy to use, personalised music streaming service.
  • Rotor Videos: (London, United Kingdom): Online platform to create music videos in just a few minutes.
  • Whitestone (Amsterdam, Holland): The first platform of interactive musical experiences through virtual and augmented reality.
  • Xceed:(Barcelona, Spain)Xceed facilitates the interaction of people around nightlife experiences by connecting clubbers & clubs


The criteria for the selection of the Startups finalists focused on their innovative capacity, their viability, their social impact, the experience and attitude of their management teams, and their capacity to communicate. Out of the total projects received 32% were Spanish, 20% from the UK, 15% from the United States, 10% from Germany and 7% from Italy, followed by countries including France, Israel, Bulgaria and Belarus. The average capital needed by the projects presented is €385,000 and they have already raised around €157,000. The majority are startups created in 2015 and are related to the media and entertainment sectors.


The jury member of PrimaveraPro Startups 2016 are Alberto Guijarro (Primavera Sound), David Cerqueda (Grupo Godó), Enric Jové (McCann Worldgroup), Javier Blázquez (Baker & McKenzie), Esteban Redolfi (Mobile World Capital – 4YFN), Steve Mayall (Music Ally), and Pablo Skaf (Deezer). They will evaluate the five finalists and choose the winning project (which will be awarded a prize to the value of €100,000) on 3rd June.


PRIMAVERAPRO STARTUPS 2016 PROGRAMME

The finalists of the third edition of the forum will be presented during a day of events that will also include related activities, such as a roundtable discussion with the participation of last year’s winners. Luis Iván Cuende (Stampery) and Shachar Gilad (Soundbetter) will share their experience of this last year, during which they have managed to raise a total of 1.6 million dollars for their respective companies. They will be accompanied by Nevena Vujosevic (Berklee College of Music) who will moderate this panel.


This will be followed by the presentation of the five selected finalist projects, each of which will give their “elevator pitch” to the jury of experts, investors and members of public attending the final.


Before the announcement of the winner, Pablo Skaf (Head of Iberia Operations at Deezer) will as the keynote speaker explain how to set up a successful project like that of the streaming platform Deezer.


And finally the eagerly awaited moment will arrive when the winning project of PrimaveraPro 2016 will be announced, as well as the winner of the audience award (that has been voted for on the Seed&Click social networks).
