For the first edition, iSport Forum selected 5 start-ups finalists sport-related for coming presented news trends in global sport industry.
The first edition of iSport Forum, organized by Seed&Click, presented futures innovations and trends for international Sport Industry.
The day began with 3 panels of experts. The first one dealt with “Tech. & Innovation in the Sport industry” with participation of Didac Lee (CEO at Inspirit), Fabrice Doreau (Head of Strategy at Atos) y Rayde Baez (Head of digital & content marketing at Euroleague). They talked about importance of fans experience in live for the future and importance of new technologies, particularly data management to change significantly future digital panorama.
Then, the second panel of the day, “Health and Nutrition”, has been formed by Sergi Bonillo (Sanchez Casal Academy), Xavi Cortadellas (Innovation at Gatorade) and Donna DeWitt (Sport Psychologist and professor at EU Business School). They broached importance of nutritional education and the necessary involvement of all players, to athletes acquire a healthy nutrition in favour of his career.
The final round-table conference “What’s next and beyond for the Sport Industry” has been animated by Enric Jové (CEO at McCann Worldgroup Spain), Francisco Empis (Head of communication at Doyen Sports) y Albert Saborido (CEO at Motorpress Rodale). All speakers came to an agreement about the importance of providing customized fans experience as far as possible.
5 sports-related start-ups and preselected across the whole world, came to present theirs projects in front of a well-know jury, to find and convince investors and, especially, to get the first prize valued at 100 000€.
Finalists which have presented their projects in the form of 5-minutes elevator pitch were First V1sion (integrated jersey-camera to offer new media and audio-visuals contents, Iniesta and Ibaka take part in this project), L-See (A device which allows to adapt the efforts and the nutrition according to our metabolism), SM Genomics (project which involve analysing the athletes’ DNA to prevent injuries and improve treatments efficiency. This company already works with FC Barcelona), VOGO sport (mobile technology for connected stadium offering media experience for spectators in a sports event) and WeFitter (incubated by Technogym, platform which promotes and rewards a healthy and active life).
The jury were composed of Carlos COSTA (Manager of Rafael Nadal), Enric JOVE (McCann), Gabriel MASFUROLL (Laureus), David CASANOVAS (Diario Sport), Sergio JEREZ (FCB), Irsan WIDARTO (Johan Cruyff Institute), Yossi MOLDAWSKI (Investor), Xavi CORTADELLAS (Gatorade) and Xavi FAURA (INDESCAT). After one hour of pitching, questions and deliberations, they elected VOGO Sport as winner of the contest.
VOGO sport, currently incubated in “Le Tremplin” (French incubator specialized in the sport industry), raised 4M€ in 2015 and is looking for a new investment to implement application in all sports events across all the world according to Barbara DESMARET’s statement (Sales VP Europe). VOGO has already worked with some of major clubs of soccer and basketball. They recently opened offices in US and could introduce their solution for the Rio’s Olympic Games. They offer an added value to the sports infrastructure and the public have now possibility to see an exclusive video contents in live.
Barbara received various prizes which will help VOGO sport in his marketing & communication strategy with McCann’s prize or increase visibility and fame thanks to Diario Sport. Vogo will also receive 10 hours of legal advising from Baker & McKenzie and sport management training courses from Johan Cruyff Institute. Finally, they received 2 tickets for any Moto GP of the year from Dorna.
Furthermore, David CASANOVAS, General Directo of Sport, gave the public trophy to SM Genomics as project which has received most likes on Facebook contest organized on Seed&Click’s Facebook page.
Finally, Juan Alvarez de Lara, CEO & Founder of Seed&Click, thanked partners who supported this first edition and affirmed his wish to turn iSport Forum into one of annual meeting references for international entrepreneurs and investors.
